Food In Motion

OSL’s Food In Motion program (FIM) is currently rescuing, procuring, and redistributing more than 120,000 pounds of donated food each month. FIM is an eco-friendly program that rescues high quality ingredients that were previously slated for the waste stream; proteins such as salmon, halibut, poultry, beef, fresh fruit - fresh produce; fruit and vegetables - and quality dry goods. Our donors include, but are not limited to, restaurants, caterers, food distributors, stadiums, cruise ships, farms, and grocery stores. Sharing resources is the impetus behind FIM.

OSL chefs use what is needed; crafting rescued food items into complete, hot, nutritionally dense, delicious, meals, and share surplus ingredients with other meal programs and dozens of human service providers.

Food In Motion is unique in the types of safe and nourishing ingredients we rescue, as well as sourcing food that is specific to the needs of meal providers. There are no similar programs serving the needs of meal providers in Washington State.

Food In Motion insures that each meal OSL creates is chock-full of great tasting, quality ingredients, and then served with love, dignity and respect.
